  What is Yoga and why do we celebrate it? Yoga is an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. International yoga day? International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 every year. It was first proposed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 and was later declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015.  What is stretching- straighten or extend one's body or a part of one's body to its full length, typically so as to tighten one's muscles or in order to reach something. Concept of stretching? Stretching is a form of physical exercise in which a specific muscle or tendon (or muscle group) is deliberately flexed or stretched in order to improve the muscle's felt elasticity and achieve comfortable muscle tone. The result is a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility, and range of motion. How stretching occurs? As the tension increases, the collagen fibers in the connective tissue align themselves along the same line of force as the tension. Hence when you stretch, the muscle fiber is pulled out to its full length sarcomere by the sarcomere, and then the connective tissue takes up the remaining slack.
