 What is stretching- straighten or extend one's body or a part of one's body to its full length, typically so as to tighten one's muscles or in order to reach something. Concept of stretching? Stretching is a form of physical exercise in which a specific muscle or tendon (or muscle group) is deliberately flexed or stretched in order to improve the muscle's felt elasticity and achieve comfortable muscle tone. The result is a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility, and range of motion. How stretching occurs? As the tension increases, the collagen fibers in the connective tissue align themselves along the same line of force as the tension. Hence when you stretch, the muscle fiber is pulled out to its full length sarcomere by the sarcomere, and then the connective tissue takes up the remaining slack.
